The milk
Posted by Wohnreich on
Out and about with the ponies, our path took us past various farms this morning.
And there they hung, the old milk barrels.
Are these still of any use today?
In the past, Mr. and Mrs. Swiss would place their milk bottles in front of their front door so that the milkman could fill them with fresh milk every day.
Today, Mr and Mrs Swiss reach into the refrigerator compartment in the supermarket.
I am also one of the milk lovers.
And I also reach for the PET milk carton from the refrigerated shelf.
But from today on I will serve milk like in grandma’s time.
In a glass bottle with patented closure.
By the way, milk not only looks pretty, it also makes you pretty.
For those who don’t necessarily like milk on the table, here is the Egyptian milk bath:
Mix a liter of warm milk with a cup of honey and then add it to the bath water.
Relax in it for 10 to 15 minutes and your skin will be velvety soft afterwards.
Thanks to milk!
