Once to Lapland and back

Posted by Wohnreich on

I could cross Lapland sometime.
On a sleigh.
Pulled by reindeer.
Lapland is the name given to the area north of the Arctic Circle.
Norway, Sweden, Finland and the Russian Kola Peninsula.
I would start my journey in Jukkasjärvi, northern Sweden.
The "small town" with about 548 inhabitants became famous for the first ice hotel in the world.
In the ice hotel, as the name suggests, conditions are like those in a freezer.
The maximum temperature in November is -6° C.
Well, you'll be warm and cozy in the ice hotel. Reindeer skins are provided on the ice beds for nighttime comfort.

Yes, if I wanted to, I could go on a reindeer ride in Lapland...but I don't want to...-6°C is a bit too cold for me.
I'll bring the reindeer skin and suitable footwear to Rapperswil, because we now have similar outside temperatures.
Reindeer fur and Bisgaard winter shoes , now available at Wohnreich.
With a touch of winter freshness, your Nina.
