Super Mom

At the latest when the youngest come home from kindergarten, call out a quick "Hello" and rush excitedly through the house, looking for the right hiding place for the lovingly hand-made gift, then we know:
On Sunday we celebrate Mother's Day!
And what could be better than starting the day with a hearty breakfast?

"Scones", a breakfast classic, very easy to make and always a success!

Mommies, kids and daddies take:
500 g flour, 1 packet of baking powder, 1 tablespoon sugar, 1 teaspoon salt, 125 g soft butter, 2 eggs, 150 whole milk yoghurt, 1 tablespoon whipping cream, 1 egg yolk
And this is how it works:
Put the flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and butter flakes in a bowl. Use your fingers to work the mixture into fine crumbles. Mix the eggs and yoghurt and add to the crumble mixture. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Knead the dough on a little flour. Roll out to a thickness of 4 cm and cut out round scones (diameter: 6 cm). (Makes 15) Place the scones on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Mix the whipped cream and egg yolk and brush the scones with it. Bake for 15 minutes. Allow to cool. Tastes heavenly with strawberry jam and cream.

Happy Mother’s Day , I wish all mommies!
