1 Advent
Posted by Wohnreich on
Today we celebrate the first Advent and the first of four candles is burning.
For us, Advent Sunday begins with a sumptuous breakfast.
And light.
White candlelight.
A long time ago, candles were considered a sign of hope.
Symbolizing the blood that Christ shed for humanity, the candles during Advent were red.
The decorations were made with juniper and fir trees, which stood for unbroken vitality. Mistletoe was used to protect the house and farm from harm.
Even today, mistletoe is a popular evergreen and a beautiful Christmas decoration.
If you don't have the opportunity to cut a mistletoe yourself, you should definitely take the opportunity and buy one at the next market.
The Christkindlimärt in Rapperswil creates an Advent atmosphere and an early Christmas Sunday stroll:

Wohnreich also offers the opportunity to do Christmas shopping in peace and quiet.
On Sunday, December 11th, the shop is
Open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
I wish you a happy Advent season!
Nina.
