A bunch of vitamin C, please!

Posted by Wohnreich on

Did you know that a freshly sliced onion contains eleven times more vitamin C than a lemon?
I love fresh onions! In all dishes. But most of all in
or as a salad.
For all onion lovers here is an extremely delicious salad recipe.
For 4 portions you need:

* 300 grams red onion
* 6 oranges
* 75 grams of black, pitted olives
* 4 tablespoons lemon juice
* 1 teaspoon honey
* 8 tablespoons olive oil
* Salt & pepper

You peel and cut the oranges into slices.
Please collect the juice.
Then peel the onions and cut them into thin slices.
Place the orange slices alternately with the onion slices in a bowl.
Season each layer with salt and pepper.
Also cut the olives into slices and sprinkle them on top.
Or if you like, you can sprinkle the olives on top whole.
For the sauce, mix the orange juice with the lemon juice and add the honey and oil. Stir and pour over the salad.
The onion salad is ready!
At our house, the onions never really get old.
And yet, field vegetables should be stored properly.
The place should be cool, dry and dark.
AND - nicely packed in boxes.
You can now find original old onion boxes in a limited number in the Wohnreich.

Have a healthy Sunday!
Your
Nina
