Aim high!
Posted by Wohnreich on
April brings the best weather for kite flying.
Go out and have fun with children and wind!
You can reach high with a homemade dragon friend:
*Wooden strips, 12x12 mm / length 70 / 100 cm
*Screws, maximum 24 mm long
*small nails with heads
*strong wrapping paper or fabric
*Tape
*strong cord
* Place the two wooden strips into a cross and screw them together.
Please don't forget to pre-drill holes.
* Hammer a nail into each end of the wooden strips.
Please do not push it all the way in and blunt each nail with a hammer beforehand so that the wood does not split.
* Now stretch the string all the way around, from nail to nail.
* Place the kite frame on the paper or fabric and cut out all around with 3-4 cm edge allowance.
* Fold the paper edges around the string and secure with strong adhesive tape.
* Tie a 3 cm long tail of string to the bottom end and attach paper bows to it.
* Fasten a strong cord to the nails of the long strip at the front so that there is about 20 cm of play in the middle. Tie a knot in the cord at the front above the intersection point of the strips to allow it to rise.
And the flying spectacle can begin!
