Sour & funny

Posted by Wohnreich on

Is that so? Is being sour funny?
I don't know exactly - but I certainly like the taste.
First and foremost, rhubarb.
As a child, we stuck raw rhubarb stalks into sugar and nibbled on them.
More sugar than rhubarb, but that doesn't matter.
It is said that the discovery of a new dish makes people happier than the discovery of a new star.
And since I want to make you all happy, here is my latest creation:

Rhubarb cream with rose water

This is what’s inside:
500 g rhubarb
1 vanilla pod
200 ml raw sugar
For the cream:
250 ml cream
100 ml mascarpone
1 tsp rose water

And this is how it works:
Cut the rhubarb into 3 cm pieces.
Preheat oven to 180°.
Line an ovenproof dish with baking paper and spread the rhubarb on top.
Mix the sugar and the pulp of the vanilla pod and sprinkle over the rhubarb. Place the vanilla pod in the dish. Cover everything with aluminum foil and bake for 20-30 minutes.
Remove from the mold and let cool.
For the cream, whip the cream until stiff. Add the mascarpone and rose water.
Mix the cream and rhubarb and fill into bowls.....
.....Life alone is not enough.
We need desserts!
And fun!
