After being invited to eat pie at a dear friend's house last week, I was so excited that I had to bake one myself yesterday.

Lucky cat

She's been there for a while now! My "Maneki Neko".
This is the name of the cute lucky charm from Asia, originally from Japan.
"Maneki Neko" means something like "beckoning cat".
With her left paw she is said to bring prosperity, luck and money.
